In the 20th year of our club on Sunday the 6th of November 2005 the tournament was sadly marked by the absence of e.g. Peter Gade (due to injury) and the presence of some old stars such as Mark Lüscher, Stefano Camuso and Benno Küng. The favourites Urs and Kaspar didn't seem the worse for wear after celebrating the loss over Basel - they both obviously saved energy in the second set for the more important club tournament. If you don't see any references to juniors well that's because the powers that be organised a separate junior event before our Superleague team played the "Badminton Association Team Basel" team.
After a coffee it was onto an amusing and uncoordinated (on the part of some participants - which hand is my left?) lead by our club cheerleader Chrigi (& family) we went straight into the main draw which was organised in two tables by Ken and Carol. We were organised in groups of 4 plus a playoff for the placing, thus giving everyone at least 5 matches (groan) which was too much for some who retired. I'm not sure how Ken put the people in the groups, perhaps by height i.e. in group D with Urs, Erich, Danü and Marc Lüscher and Group C with Fippu, Bevi, Däni and Karin? Anyway it seemed to work out and in between stuffing ourselves on Black Forest cake provided by Chrigu (Harnisch), munchies from Carol & Ken, massive "half" portions of spagg (enough to feed a small army, try playing directly afterwards or my excuse as to why I didn't win) we actually played some good bad minton.

After showering we proceeded to the ritual gift exchange where the most popular items were things to eat or drink (please no ovo next time). Then came the main event which is of course the famous "fondue chinois" at the Uetendorf Rössli (including desert). The prize winners of the jubilee quiz were drawn by the "lucky fairy" while we enjoyed the sensation of fitting yet more food into our stomachs. Thanks again to Ken and Carol for organising the whole do.
